Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t see your question, feel free to contact us and we will get you an answer right away!

Q: Does my child have to practice? If so, how long?
A: Our students play their instruments, not practice them! We believe in helping students fall in love with their music lessons first so that practice happens naturally later on without being a chore. We encourage students to use goal-based methods to play their instruments instead of setting a timer. Additionally, our KidzRock! program requires no at-home practice or instruments for students ages 4-7.

Q: Do I have to have an instrument at home?
A: KidzRock! students do not have to have an instrument at home. All other students should have access to an instrument so they can play when they feel moved to!

Q: Do you have concerts or recitals?
A: Our rock bands have concerts every 8-10 weeks. For all other lesson types, we have a minimum of two concerts per year and they are a BLAST! Check out our Facebook page for concert photos! Participation is encouraged but not required. There are no additional fees associated with concerts as they are included in your membership.

Q: What days/times are available?
A: Available lesson times depend on the lesson type that you choose. We have teachers who teach every day of the week so we can definitely find a time that works best with your child’s busy schedule. Pick out a lesson type, fill out our enrollment form to get specific days and times that are available.

Q: Is there a trial period for us to try out lessons?
A: You can quit at any time with 30 days notice. You can attend the last 30 days or opt out of attending however, tuition is still paid. If we fill your time slot before that 30 days is up, we will refund whatever amount is left and remove you from the schedule.

Q: What books does my child need?
A: We order books for you after the student’s first paid lesson. Books are $12. Students typically go through books every 4-5 months.

Q: Do you offer private lessons?
A: We only offer private lessons in special circumstances such as a student with severe social anxiety. Private Lessons are very outdated and we like to stay current with the music lesson trends. Students who take Private Lessons score 30-40% lower than Deluxe Lesson students.

Q: How do we sign up?
A: The first step is to fill out the enrollment form. Someone will contact you shortly to schedule your interview lesson. Interview lessons are free when you bring a pet supply donation for the Junction City Animal Shelter. Interview lessons allow us to both make sure we are a good fit for one another. If the interview lesson goes well, we will get you added to the schedule and your child will start their journey as a musician!
